What Comes After Emotional Abuse: Writing As Remedy in Bernhard Schlink's "The Reader"

To more fully understand Michael Berg's status as an unreliable narrator, we must research and apply elements of emotional abuse to the character. Michael's abuse is proven by his later recovery in the novel, depicted as writing.

This was the flagship academic article of my undergraduate degree in English. It was published in Utah Valley University's Fall 2015 issue of EssaisAn Undergraduate Journal for Essays in Literary Criticism.
